Your first visit will consist of a medical history review, necessary X-rays and a comprehensive dental exam, including an oral cancer check, TMJ exam, check for cavities and screening for gum disease. Then, if we find tooth decay or something else that requires attention, we will create a treatment plan for any work you will need. We will also determine what type of cleaning you need depending on the results of your gum disease screening. With your permission, we will then schedule necessary appointments. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- X-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable
- List of medications you are presently taking
- Your dental insurance completed forms to save time & help us process claims
- Information about medical conditions that may be of concern prior to treatment (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)
